Young Adults

The vibrant Young Adult Ministry is geared towards people aged 18-35.  We are a welcoming community inclusive of all young adults, regardless of identity.  We aim to bring people together in community and help everyone feel at home within our congregation. 

Many Sundays we gather informally for lunch after the second service.  On the first Sunday of each month we meet for Circle Worship after the second service - an intimate, participatory worship that provides an opportunity for spiritual exploration and community building.  On the fifteenth of each month we hold the incredibly popular Potluck and Game Night.  We also we hold social justice activities and special social events.

GLBTQ Outreach Ministry

The Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Queer & Questioning Outreach Ministry meets for brunch on the fourth Sunday of the month after the second service at 12:45 p.m. (11:45 a.m. from mid May to Labor Day).  We meet in the Palmer Room (directly behind the sanctuary) and then walk to a neighborhood restaurant.  We host occasional programs, such as Pride Sunday. We advocate for same-sex marriage recognition and other concerns. Programming is open to everyone.

 

Retiree Group

This group is for people who are retired or thinking about retirement. We host potluck lunches at the church on the second Thursday of every month, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. We also plan social outings during the day. Sign up at the What’s Happening table at church or contact the Membership Coordinator at 773-549-0260 ext. 11 or secondunitarian@att.net for more information.

Parents Circle

On the first Sunday of the month, join other parents for a one hour discussion of a themed reading.  Childcare is provided ($5 fee requested).  RSVP to our Membership Coordinator at secondunitarian@att.net.

Adult Faith Development Programs

One of the easiest ways to connect with people in the community, explore your own beliefs and learn more about Unitarian Universalism is to sign up for one of the Adult Faith Development programs.  Whether its attending a midweek community night that starts with a meal, sharing your love of movies at a monthly movie night or joining fellow seekers for a group meditation, our programs are designed to create community and to deepen your spiritual life.  To learn more contact our Director of Faith Development at faithdev_2U@att.net or 773-549-0260 ext. 12. 

Music Ministry
