Serving Others
We are dedicated to acting on our faith and values in the world. Second Unitarian Church has a long history of social justice work that has helped to make Chicago and the world a better place. Our Social Justice Ministry is dedicated to providing opportunities for people of all ages to serve others.
It’s easy to help us work for justice, from addressing homelessness to protecting the environment to standing up for the full rights of bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgender people.
CURRENT WAYS TO SERVE

1. Read the The Anvil, the church newsletter to find out how to participate in one of our social justice events or ministries. Sign up for The Anvil by contacting secondunitarian@att.net.
- Cook and serve food for The Night Ministry.
- Help our Pastoral Care Ministry serve members of the congregation who need a meal after the arrival of a new baby, a friendly visit, or a ride to a doctor’s appointment.
2. Come to worship and contribute to the collection - half of the money will go to an organization that embodies our shared values.
