Joining
The path to membership in a church community is different for each person; we are here to help as you make this important decision. If you have been participating in the life of our church and want to learn more about becoming a member, contact Lisa Todd, our Membership Coordinator at 773-549-0260 ext. 11 or secondunitarian@att.net.
Our Membership 101 class is meant for people who are trying to discern whether or not Unitarian Universalism is right for them. It also fulfills one of the requirements for membership, which is attending an orientation class. We describe the historical and theological roots of Unitarian Universalism, discuss the priorities and values of Second Unitarian Church and offer a time for your own personal reflection on what you are looking for in a church community. If possible, read the Sources of Our Faith sermon series beforehand and come with your questions.
The class is held on the third Sunday of each month from 12:30 - 2:30pm in the church loft and includes a light lunch.
2008 - September 21, October 19, November 16, December 21
