Jennifer Owen O-Quill is the pastor of Second Unitarian Church and is responsible for the ministries of our congregation.  She brings focused vision, leadership and teaching to our community and has a heart for reaching new people with a progressive gospel.  A native of southern California, Jennifer came to Second Unitarian in 2002 after serving churches in Oregon.  She believes strong religious leadership can change lives and change communities, and serves in the Lake View community on the 44th Ward’s Community Directed Development Committee and Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital’s Professional Consultation Committee.   The strength of our denominational vision and the leadership capacity of progressive clergy are important to her, and she recently completed a term on Meadville Lombard Theological School’s board of trustees.  She graduated from Meadville Lombard in 2001 with a Master of Divinity degree, and was awarded prizes in Religious Leadership and New Testament Studies.  Jennifer and her husband David are both pastors: David leads an emerging church in Wicker Park called Micah’s Porch (www.micahsporch.org).
