Planning Your Visit
Our building is fully accessible, with a handicap loading zone located directly in front of the church for convenient drop-off, an exterior ramp on the east side serving as the primary entrance, and an elevator connecting all levels. Inside, we offer reserved sanctuary seating for wheelchair and walker users, assistive listening options and noise-canceling headphones available through our tech team, and Zoom captions for those joining virtually. We also strive to create a comfortable environment for all by being mindful of fragrance sensitivities throughout our shared spaces.
Sanctuary Seating
We have rows reserved for wheelchair and walker access, with designated seating areas to ensure comfort and ease of movement. If you need assistance locating these spaces or have specific accessibility needs, please stop by the Welcome Table or speak with one of our ushers. They’ll be happy to help you find a spot that works best for you.
Zoom Captions
Automatically generated captions are available for our service. If you do not see captions on your screen and would like to turn the captions on, please click the “CC Live Transcript” button, or select “Show Subtitles” under your “…More” options. If you see captions and would prefer not to see them, please select the “CC Live Transcript” icon and select “Hide Subtitles.” If you use the captions, please let us know your experience by emailing AIM@secondunitarian.org.
Hearing Devices
If you are attending service in person at 2U, noise-canceling headphones for both adults and children are now available for use for services or events. The headphones are earmuff style and will be kept behind the tech table in the sanctuary. Individually-wrapped wipes are available next to the headphones to clean before and after each use.
Assisted hearing devices may also available to use during service. Please see our tech team in the back of the Sanctuary for more information. Email AIM@secondunitarian.org if you or someone you know would benefit from a braille copy of the Singing the Living Tradition hymnal.
Sensitivities
We have members in our community who are sensitive to strong fragrances, and we want to ensure that everyone can worship and participate comfortably in our shared spaces. We kindly request that you refrain from using heavy colognes and perfumes when attending our services and gatherings. Your cooperation in this matter will help create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Thank you for your understanding and consideration!
