Join us at 12:15PM on Sunday, May 25th in the Sanctuary to celebrate our Social Justice Ministry this past year. Together we have put love in the center of our lives by working towards a world where everyone lives with dignity and respect.
All are welcome - RSVP HERE
Here are some examples to get a feel for the impact of our Social Justice Ministry:
Twelve 2U members carried out 24 shifts with Chicago Community Jail Support
In all weather conditions, we were outside the Cook County jail offering free food, rides, phone calls and open conversation to people being released
Monthly Social Justice Mondays
We’ve written dozens of cards to incarcerated people
Crafted powerful protest signs
Handmade bookmarks for Liberation Library
We launched a new justice table
New visitors and long time members alike engage in conversation, learn about opportunities for action and develop our culture of living our values
We’ve continued our long legacy of contributing to the Night Ministry
22 2U members or visitors have made meals over the year
Our congregation has rallied around migrants, welcoming them into our city and community—-providing concrete support to those finding a new home
The Jubilee is an hour of honor and celebration for the work we’ve done to shape our world towards justice. We also recommit to finding our role in the work ahead. Join your 2U community in this sacred work. All are welcome!
We will have coloring pages and supplies for any kids (or adults!) who want them.
The Jubilee is part of the collaborative work of UUANI's catalyst project to build engagement in Unitarian Universalist justice efforts.
