Introduction to Restorative Justice Workshop
Curious about alternatives to our traditional justice systems? The 2U Board is sponsoring a Introduction to Restorative Justice workshop exploring the dynamics of restorative justice, a practice that offers a transformative approach to addressing harm, emphasizing dialogue and understanding as a path to healing and closure. Please join us in the sanctuary at 1:00pm on Sunday, September 27th to learn more about this approach to accountability and addressing harm outside of a punishment framework.
We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Viets as our workshop facilitator, who has been working as Restorative Justice Practitioner for the past 15 years. For the past four years she has worked as the Alternative Resolution Pathways Specialist in the Office of Student Protections for Chicago Public Schools. Prior to this she spent four years working as a Restorative Practices Coach in the Office of Social Emotional Learning. Her work in the community involves training community Circle Keepers and supporting restorative processes.
