Love Beyond Borders

Suyapa, our Rainbow Railroad housed guest who lived in our church last summer/fall, was detained in October and deported back to Honduras in January of this year. She was abruptly removed from Chicago and therefore left all of her belongings in her room at 2U. Alicia will be going to Honduras for 2 days, May 10th - 12th, to deliver her belongings and money she had saved up to her directly. Suyapa faces many challenges in Honduras due to crime, poverty and her LGBTQ status.

Her 2U Sanctuary Support Team misses her terribly and continues to provide support as much as possible from afar. Please make a donation to help fund this trip and some additional resources for Suyapa. Make your contribution through Breeze (select “Suyapa Support Fund” as the giving option) by May 8th. Cards and letters of support can also be given to Alicia to deliver to Suyapa. It takes our community to support those who are currently being targeted by US immigration policies.
