Milestone - Carl Kennedy
Dear beloved friends,
On Monday, I accepted a job offer for the newly created full-time position of Director of Music and Worship Arts at the DuPage UU Church. I will remain in my current role for six more weeks with my final service being July 13th.
As you can imagine, this is a very bittersweet move for me. I walked into 2U for the first time nearly a decade ago trying to score a gig, and my goodness did I find so much more! I discovered a passionate, creative, and loving community that pushed me to grow as much in my faith as in my musicianship. Thank you for embracing me, inspiring me, challenging me, trusting me, and teaching me. 2U is a truly special place because of you. It has been an honor and a privilege to make music with you all and our time together means more to me than I know how to express.
I met with Jason earlier and we began talking about strategies for a transition. We looked over the job listing from 2016, and holy cow, has a lot changed. 2U's investment in music over the last decade has put you in a position to attract a serious pool of candidates and I am confident that you will be in a great position to continue that growth.
There will be lots of time to connect with you over the next six weeks and I am sure they will be full of hugs, laughs, and tears. I look forward to all of them.
