Letter from the Board 11/2/2026

As fall is in full swing, I am very thankful for our community and congregation for putting together a fantastic Fall Fest! Huge thanks to the committee, Frank Freeman, Cindy La Greca, Julia Maher, Carrie McAlpin, Harris McKee, Suzanne Miller, Diane Sander, and Bess Wilhelms, as well as Brandon for a night of magic and merriment, all while raising over $47,000. Besides our annual pledges, Fall Fest is the most significant source of income for 2U and allows us to fund our operations. I was sorry to miss the festivities (I was away celebrating my grandfather's 100th birthday!) but heard that the space was beautiful, the talent revue was astonishing and the spirit was in the air.

On December 1, we continue in our season of change with the beginning of Rev Allison Farnum's contract as our minister through the summer of 2028. There will be many times to get to know Rev Allison but there is a very important weekend to hold on your calendars now: January 29-30, 2027. That weekend we will be joined by our UUA representative as we explore our hopes, dreams and goals for our time together. Friday evening will be open for the entire congregation, including families, for a potluck dinner and discussion of our history and future; Saturday morning will include the board and all committee leaders as we discuss our expectations, responsibilities and targets for the coming year. More details and RSVP information will follow.

Thank you for being with us as we continue to evolve in an often crazy world. As always, please reach out to the pastoral care team or the board if we can support you during this time.

Blessed be,

—Courtney M Anderson, 2U Board Chair
