Growing up in Chicago, Elio Gaviria was exposed to a wide variety of music from an early age. However, it wasn’t until she was ten that she began taking piano lessons. While studying at the Merit School of Music Conservatory, she explored a range of musical styles and ensemble settings, including jazz ensembles, orchestra, piano duets, and collaborations with vocalists, all while continuing to develop her classical solo repertoire.
For her undergraduate studies, Elio moved to England to attend the renowned Royal Northern College of Music. There, she focused on the classical repertoire and performed throughout the country with her piano trio.
Now back in her hometown of Chicago, Elio has shifted her focus toward teaching and collaborative piano work at 2U, while continuing to perform solo recitals and prepare for graduate school auditions. Although she loves classical music, her favorite bands are Led Zeppelin and My Chemical Romance.
