Money Matters – Pledges

I appreciate all who have been making payments on their pledges.  Last month, we were $16,000 behind on expected pledge receipts and this has been narrowed to being $1,000 behind.  Kudos to this congregation!

Please continue to make pledge payments if you are behind.  Your payments make a huge difference and ensure that we are able to provide meaningful worship experiences, maintain our building, pay our staff and support our social justice efforts.  Thanks!

Copier Update

We have been evaluating our options on our old copier.  I know that many are missing the old style of the Sunday order of service that our current copier is no longer able to produce.  The cost to replace the copier would be over $3,000 per year.  We are having to make hard choices on how best to use our funds.  For example, we also have a significant need to have more help in maintaining our building.  As we weigh the choices, we are trying a middle ground with a one page order of service that includes important announcements on the back and a full version available through an email link and a QR code.  We appreciate everyone’s understanding.  Please feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss.

December Results

The actual results for July through December show higher net operating income.  This is typical at this time of year due to the Fall Fest and Cookie Sale fund raisers.  We expect the net operating income will reverse over the rest of the year as committees use their budgeted amounts and we are continuing to incur additional building costs.

Actual July to December

Total Revenue $259,048

Total Expenses $236,119

Net Operating Income $22,929 (excludes special $70,000 donation used to pay off mortgage)

Capital Campaign Update

We currently have approximately $14,000 remaining in expected work to be done.  Remaining work includes approximately $1,000 for electrical work, $5,000 for flooring, $6,000 to $12,000 for garden restoration. In addition, we expect some additional costs for plaque recognition of donors, a hardscraping base for trash carts and further work on the windows in the Loft.

While we are in the final stages of the capital campaign, we are still relying on capital campaign pledges.  Thanks to all who have fully paid their pledge.  If you still owe amounts, we greatly appreciate your payments.

Respectfully submitted,

Diane Sander, 2U Treasurer
