Minister’s Letter 3/1/2026

Dear Friends,

In just a couple of weeks we will gather to celebrate the conclusion of our multi-year Capital Campaign! This effort has been an incredible accomplishment. You raised nearly one million dollars to ensure our church would be a more accessible place, a more welcoming place, and a more beautiful place. There is much to be proud of.

In a time when things are challenging, when day after day we are bombarded with even harder things to navigate, it is essential that we celebrate every victory, big and small. Sometimes that victory is simply getting out of bed. Other times that victory is getting an A in a class. Still other times that victory is a hard-won campaign for justice. No matter what the victory is, it must be celebrated. Celebrating the success of our Capital Campaign is part of that necessary practice.

I hope that you join us on March 14th at 7:00pm to recognize all the work that went into making this Capital Campaign a success. While no one did this work alone, there are those who put in the lion’s share of the effort. We need to celebrate our Co-chairs, our Scope Committee, our building stewards, the contractor, the architect, the fundraisers, everyone who gave their time to the campaign. Whether you have been part of this church for more than one Capital Campaign or if this is your first one, whether you have given one dollar or one hundred thousand dollars, come to this celebration. Our community deserves to be honored for all that we have done.

I feel very proud of what we accomplished. Is there more work to be done? Always. As I noted, each victory must be celebrated along the way. Church members have been talking about putting an elevator into our building for decades, we have succeeded. Members have been asking for a ramp to get into our building for decades, we have one now. The sanctuary floor had holes in it, the entire floor has been replaced. The chancel needed attention to increase its beauty, a recreation has been completed. Even more work has been done, little things you notice and behind the scenes things you may not. It is because of the financial generosity, dedication of time, and creative problem solving that made this campaign succeed.

Come celebrate! Listen to the story of our success. Recognize those whose generosity made this possible. Know that using our space to give life to the vision of our church is possible because of the ways we resource our congregation. “Our wealth is what we share,” we say each Sunday. Join together on March 14th at 7:00pm in our beautiful, accessible, transformed building to celebrate.

In faithful solidarity,

—RevJ
